About the Authors

HEIDI TROMP is fascinated with the brain-gut connection disfunction and the association thereof with auto-immune diseases.

She completed her B.Pharm degree at the North-West University in 2006. In 2014, she completed her Masters degree on the association of IBS, depression and anxiety. Her field of study was Pharmacology.

She was enrolled at the Medical school of the University of the Free State in South Africa. She presented her findings at the annual Faculty Research Forum of the University of the Free State. Here she demonstrated good public speaking skills and was commended by an adjudicator for her innovative approach.

She currently builds on the knowledge that she gained on this topic and shares the latest research with the public in an easy and practical way.

Co-author ANITA TROMP is a dietician with extensive knowledge on the impact that food has on the body. She completed BSc Dietetics in 1975 at the University of Pretoria.
